Based on the positioning of the motor relative to the reel, there are four primary types of electric cable hoists.Perpendicular Axis Configuration: This type, with the motor axis perpendicular to the reel axis, uses a worm gear transmission mechanism. However, it's characterized by a wide structure, low mechanical efficiency, challenging processing, and is no longer manufactured by any companies.Parallel Axis Configuration: Here, the motor axis aligns parallel to the reel axis, offering advantages of reduced height and length. However, it comes with drawbacks such as increased width, complexity in manufacturing and assembly, and a wider turning radius.Motor-Inside-Drum Configuration: In this setup, the motor is situated within the drum, providing advantages like compactness and reduced length. Yet, it suffers from drawbacks like inadequate motor heat dissipation, complex inspection, and maintenance due to its internal placement.Motor-Outside-Drum Configuration: This type, with the motor mounted outside the drum, offers benefits such as improved versatility, easy adjustment of lifting height, and simplified installation and maintenance. Nevertheless, it tends to have larger dimensions and length as a drawback.
